The Laugharne Festival is a constituted organisation who every three years put on a week long event to raise money for the upkeep of The Cors Playing Field in Laugharne.
The Township of Laugharne is in the county of Carmarthenshire and is now best known because of Dylan Thomas who made it his home. Here he wrote many poems and short stories, but Under Milk Wood - 'a play for voices' would be the piece most people associate with his living in Laugharne. Dylan is buried in the graveyard of St. Martins church, Laugharne marked with a simple white wooden cross.
Members of the committee apply for grants and sponsorship to stage the event and considerable time is given freely from locals supporting the aims and objectives.
