Carmarthen Journal - 16 August 2006
THE recent Laugharne Festival was a great success and attracted many tourists.
The performances of Under Milk Wood revitalised local interest in the play.
I witnessed the vast amount of work that took place behind the scenes to hold everything together.
The chairman Bob Costley and his wife Lorraine made financial sacrifices, offered their skills and expertise, and gave up most of their time and energy for several months. I was amazed at their doggedness, patience, and generosity of spirit.
Barbara Reeves and Keith Williams also worked tremendously hard so that others could shine. The skills involved in the administration, finances and publicity were extremely impressive. Curtains were rustled up to order — nothing was too big or too small.
I would like to say how impressed I have been by their efforts to ensure money was raised for the children's playground and that people had an enjoyable week.
